  • Who ate the cake?

    Only six people knew that Mum had baked a cake that day, but none of them are owning up to knowing anything about its mysterious disappearance! Has someone helped themselves, or does the trail of crumbs and footprints all over the kitchen floor point to a different conclusion? You and your students will have to examine everything and piece together all the evidence to solve the mystery of Who Ate the Cake?

  • The secret of Redbeard's Gold

    Join us as we explore pirate ships and search for hidden treasure maps. Help us plot a course to Redbeard’s secret treasure island, and then work with us to follow the trail of clues he left his men to lead them to his treasure. It might be dangerous. There may be pirates, whirlpools, dark caves and deep waters, but think how exciting it will be! Do you dare come with us and help us uncover the secret of Redbeard’s gold?

  • Master Chef

    Gourmet Chef of the World is one of catering’s most prestigious competitions, but one of this year’s competitors is unlikely to be taking home the top prize, as someone’s offering appears to have literally poisoned the judge! Your students will have to examine the contestants and their recipes to determine exactly what – or who – is responsible.

  • The case of the mummy's curse

    The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb – foolish superstition, or sinister fact? The first person to enter the tomb in centuries has been struck down by a mysterious illness, and lies close to death in his tent at the dig site. The locals believe it is the wrath of the mummy they have disturbed, but others seek a more practical solution. Can your students separate fact from fiction, and unravel the mystery of the Mummy’s Curse?

  • A riddle of Rome

    The Ancient Romans certainly loved a spectacle, and Quintus Julius Maximus is certain the “Games” he is hosting will provide one! He has arranged chariot racing, gladiatorial combat, wild animals, mock sea battles, and historical re-enactments, all taking place in the greatest arena ever built - the Colossuem of Rome. The only thing missing is Quintus himself! You/your students will have to gather evidence from inside the arena and out, to get to the bottom the mysterious disappearance of Quintus Julius Maximus in A Riddle of Rome.

  • SOLAR

    The Spaceship Icarus, believed lost for months after veering from its programmed course, has finally re-entered the Earth’s atmosphere – but sadly only 4 of its 5-man crew have survived the journey home. Your students must track its journey to the outer reaches of the solar system and discover what caused it to deviate from its route – a system malfunction, or sabotage; and whether this is related to the death of one of the crew.

  • Film Star Fatality

    The film world is the ultimate in make believe, but the death of leading lady Helen Hartwell proves all too real when she collapses at a star studded production party and cannot be revived. Did she eat something which triggered one of her well-known allergies? The chef hotly denies any liability, but can he be trusted? Your students must walk the red carpet themselves to hunt down the solution to The Film Star Fatality.

  • The auction house atrocity

    The world of art and antiques isn’t usually this exciting! The senior partner of prestigious auction house Christoby’s lies dead at his desk, clutching an antique weapon which should have been in the show room downstairs. Your students will have to piece together his last day, interviewing his colleagues, checking his diary, phone, emails and movements to try and solve the mystery of The Auction House Atrocity.

  • The Curse of the Redwood Rubies

    A beautiful and priceless ruby necklace. An ancient curse. A family at war. Each of these sound dramatic and exciting in their own right, but when you put the three of them together – could they add up to murder? Your students will have to get to the bottom of the Curse of the Redwood Rubies in order to decide.

  • Murder at the Manor

    The 1930’s, a time of Manors, manners, and murder! Step back in time to an age where trains were punctual, houseguests observed the social niceties, and parties could be murder! Your students will have to follow in the footsteps of Poirot and exercise those little grey cells in Mr Ed Boddy’s magnificent country house, to unravel the mystery of the Murder at the Manor.

  • Death Comes to Donnington

    The world of motor racing is fast, furious and fascinating – but not usually deadly! And yet the hot favourite to win the famous Donnington Cup was involved in a mysterious accident which abruptly ended his chances on the track. Your students will have to explore the competitive sport of motor racing in the 1960s to discover whether this was just a tragic accident, or something altogether more sinister.

  • The Time Machine

    Are you ready to save the world?

    We live on a planet rich in natural resources, and yet other civilisations far beyond the stars have noticed that we are not appreciating or looking after what we have. It is only a matter of time before they attack, stripping us of what we take for granted and leaving the Earth an empty shell. Luckily we have a time machine!! Your students must travel back through history searching for the means to stop the alien forces and save our planet from destruction. Do they have what it takes to save the world?

  • The Mystery of Shakespeare's Globe

    Shakespeare’s Globe - the home of comedy, tragedy, drama - and now murder! A mystery chest has appeared on the stage just before a performance, with a note claiming it contains the body of Mr Shakespeare himself. You/your students will have to take a closer look at Elizabethan theatre and the day-to-day workings of the Globe, together with six of the bard’s own plays, to try and determine how the chest came there, who it contains, and why, in The Mystery of Shakespeare’s Globe.

  • A Victorian Ghost Story

    It is the eve of all hallows, when the veil that separates the living from the dead is at its thinnest, and Edmund Branscombe, deceased, has unfinished business with the world he left behind him.

    Edmund Branscombe did not die the natural death everyone believed. Instead he was poisoned, and now he is back to uncover the culprit. Was it his wife or his best friend? One of his customers, or a disgruntled employee? The vaudeville mesmerist or the mysterious medium he consulted? Your students will need to take a tour through the dark streets of Victorian London to discover the murderer and lay Edmund’s ghost to rest. (Currently in development).

  • Where's Cookie?

    Cookie is a playful cat. Sometimes he can be too playful. He’s been seen all over the house and garden, playing with Granny’s knitting wool, the twins’ homework, Dad’s computer keyboard, Maya’s ingredients, Joshie’s nature project and Grandad’s seedlings. But now no-one can find him!

    Think you’d make a good detective like Sherlock Holmes? Well if you pass the test you can join our club and come with us on all sorts of exciting adventures!

    We didn’t expect to have our first adventure in the library, but when Sherlock, our dog, got lost among the books we couldn’t leave until we’d found him. And looking for him took us on an amazing journey of fairytales, giants, knights and castles, dragons, pirates and much more. Come with us and discover just how exciting books can be!
